either:
Broken drain pipe
or
washer not level
or
wrong kind of soap in machine ( too much suds will leak out of the door)

dishwashers and washing machines can leak in 30982520752043109427610984 different ways.

most likely it's the door seal.

does it leak when the sink is used or only the dishwasher?

if it is only when the dishwasher is used, then it is probably a seal somewhere.

Also, is it a stream of water or drip or heavy drip?

Be vary CAREFUL There are exposed wires underneath the dishwasher. I would shut the power off at the breaker and inspect it closely. Check the hose where the water comes in, and check the drain pipe.

That is a good tip. You are absolutely right. I am remodeling my house and we just got our new dishwasher and there are exposed wires down there. It's very dangerous.

If your dishwasher is old, it could be a burst vinyl hose. Those things last maybe 3 years or so before they start going bad and just burst. They have new braided metal ones that last 10 years or longer now. Those aren't hard to replace at all.

Could also be a backlog from the outlet pipe, make sure water can flow away properly and it's at the right level.
