That means the reason behind this experiment was: "Uhh we thought it would be cool"

I saw an interesting show the other day about space flight and the lack of gravity. It stated that the reason we can't do a long term manned mission to Mars at this point in time is because lack of gravity is horrible on the muscles of the muman body. There was like an 8% loss after 2 weeks even with regular exercise on special machines. By the time the astronauts made it to Mars, they'd be too weak to do anything.

That's why artificial gravity and "genetic enhancements" are being explored.

Seriously. You can tell how precise this study was by the precision instruments used for it: A needle, a empty soda bottle filled with blue food coloring, and a drinking straw. I seriously think that the guys working for NASA jsut had nothing better to do with the low gravity plane that day.
