I recently setup liquid cooling in my computer and got it running for the first time. I did not see any noticeable leak in my computer and left it running all night (BIG MISTAKE). The next day I came to check up on it was that some of the fluid got on to my video card and my screen was full of colors. I turned it off and cleaned off some of the fluid. I was surprised that my video card still works except that I have vertical and horizontal teal colored bars. Its still usable but I won't be able to enjoy movies or games on it. I've spent 400 on my 9700AIW and I am pretty dissapointed that it only lasted me for a year or more. Is there a way to save my card or buy a new card? I definitely voided my warranty huh when I took off the heat sink and place a waterblock on it.

Dang, sorry to hear about that. That's pretty messed up. :( I have toyed w/the idea of watercooling for years now. This is a sign that it's still a no-no.

i've looked into water cooling on occation. its not so much the water that scares me,its the god damn price. $75 for a nice water bluck, $50 for GPU/NB, quiet pump, etc. soooo expensive for the gains. i'd rather just buy faster hardware and use stealths.

double check to make sure you have the video card entirely cleaned. squirt\pour some distilled water over it. and let it dry (with a hair dryer blowing on it)...

here's a little tip froma guy who doesnt do water cooling, lay out your case so that your motherboard is upside down, and run your water cooling for a day or overnight without your system on. any thing that drips will drip down. and since your system is OFF, no real damage can be done if you clean things off. Also, getting non-conductive coolant = good (expensive though). oh, and yes, have the other water cooling stuff there installed too.

I SOOOOOOOOOOOOO agree with you....watercooling isnt like a phase change system, your not getting that much in OC gains.....buy yourself a nice Thermalright XP-120 HS/F for about 60$, and you will save TONS of money, and get about the same performance...reviews are looking very nice for the XP-120

too bad my PSU is right next to my mother board. Well, it doesn't look like there is much hope for me. I cleaning up the spot where it dripped on. Looks like I should of done more homework. Maybe I need to give my video card a bath...

If I were to upgrade, aren't those hard to find?
