Dang, they all look so young. O'Neill and Carter especially. I think Teal'c and Jackson 'aged' the best, at least physically. Amanda Tapping didn't look so good in the opening eps of SGU, but she looks great in the early SG1 eps.
Yes, always amusing. 🙂She looked the worst in the stargate movies that followed the series. WAY too much makeup.
I sometimes marvel that SG1 became as popular as it did, the first few episodes were pretty rough. (Richard Anderson saved it IMO)
We are actually in the middle of watching Season 1 as well, since my wife has never seen many of the episodes. It is amazing to me watching the first season the direction the show took in later seasons
I think the show faced cancellation around that time, so they kind of turned it into a different series. Sucks how TV shows have to tailor their stories around that kind of unpredictability. And it was generally a good direction 🙂 You can't beat the humor the writers (and I think actors) injected into the show. It was like the perfect blend of syfi, comedy, and action. It stayed good right up to about season 7 or 8 (once the original cast started leaving is when things really took a downhill turn.)

And of course, some shows just STOP.
"Reboot" wound up ending the series on a cliffhanger.🙁
I really liked SG-1...if Buffy/Angel/Babylon5 are up there, I should watch those too. Hmm.

OMG the time loop episode...with O'Neil driving golf balls through the gate. I seriously crack up every time I watch that episode. It's got so much Groundhog Day goodness.

The later seasons have their moments. I still crack up when I see the S10 episode where O'Neill interrogates Prior-Daniel.
" Right in the middle of my back swing !!!! " - Such a great episode .
It fell apart a bit once Ben Browder took over from RDA, but that's at least partly because the writers made him so dull in comparison (not to mention in comparison to John Crichton).
