I didn't said that so don't go at me, I'll just try to remember as accurately as I can.

I heard someone say that sports "is just a male soap opera" and that most male "sport-heads" are "fat pigs who watch TV all day" and that "they need to get their drama fix" and that it is more about "watching the stories of players leaving and joining teams, marrying and divorcing, etc, rather than the game itself" ....

And also, that most gays would watch sports "just to see their favourite guys how they bend their legs, etc"

Can't remember exactly, it was some years ago, I personally watch skiing mainly but really more kind of a side-thing, footbal but only the big season games, I also peek on UK snooker on eurosport, that's about it, and that for me happens like, once or twice a year depending how much the nationals win.

I heard someone say that the OP plays the skin flute quite eloquently.

Sports is a male soap opera, look at the guys above who would never survive defending them.

I play sports, I don't watch sports.

lol

Personally I care less about sports, seems to be a bunch of overpaid guys I give less than a shit about.

Once upon a time I had Buccaneers season tickets and the wife and I enjoyed going just to hang out at the NFL games but the expense and time involved has just gotten old.

She even has a Buccs tatoo on her ankle, and still doesn't miss going these days.

Her and a girlfriend said they'd get em if they won the Superbowl that year, and they did.

many mainstream or casual sports fans this is likely true

would wish the ufc and casual fight fans would go away

although many of them are not casual fight fans but casual ufc fans per se

so when it comes to mainstream professional sports this is likely true

wish real amateurism in sport would come back. sounds like a great time to both play and watch any sport.

think of all the bros ads that play of the time

would say so

Pro Wrestling is a male soap opera.

ufc wants their fighters to be more like professional wrestling with promotions and social media and such. other professional sports also want their sport stars to work with promotions and social media.

I watch and enjoy football, and so does my wife. I enjoy it at a pretty deep level because of all the intricacies involved that I learned while playing it for years, but mostly it is just because I think it is human nature to be competitive and enjoy competition, even when you are not directly involved.

And I don't know a single fan that fits that stereotype mentioned by the OP, and we know a lot of fans. They are all types.

many fans like the sport because of the sport itself and not just because other people do or such
