Hello everyone!

I knolw that it is possible to watch cable tv over your computer with a TV Tuner card, but what about Satellite TV? Is this possible somehow?

Thanks

sure it is, as long as the Sattelite is going through the actual Receiver then u can use Computer as TV. I dont think you will get anything out of plugging Dish into Antennae input on your comp because Sattelite signal is digital in MPEG-2.

oh btw all ur gonna need is Composite or S-video in to plug in the Dish Receiver u dont need a whole TV tuner just a capture card.

Thanks a lot for the info.

Is there a way to split the cord, going from the box to the TV into two? (So one can hook up to the TV, the other to my copmuter?) And if that is possible, does that mean only one channel can be watched on both? or can the computer and TV view different channels simotaniously (sp?) ?

Also, whats the difference between a TV Tuner and a Capture Card?

Thanks

The 3dfx Voodoo TV, ATI TV Wonder, Hauppauge WinTv & similar, will act as a TV monitor/VCR for the satellite receiver's output. Tuning of channels would be done only with the satellite receiver. Still & motion capture would be possible, to PC's hard drive.
As for satellite cards for pc: supposed to be ready at some point in time, for much more $$$. Not yet for sale, AFAIK.
