and he just pressed the new yorker writer (who happened to be agreeing with him) until the writer accepted use of the word "vicious" to describe how mel gibson has been treated by "the media."

as soon as the writer (after many attempts to deflect the use of the word vicious) began nodding his head and said the word, o'reilly cut him off because he had gotten the guest to agree with him.
how rude!!
no wonder people come on his show so defensive!

Also notice that Al Franken stands on the shoulders of giants by using a conservative source as part of the title of each of his books?

In the immortal words of Tucker Carlson during a
Salon.com interview...

So when you went into television, who were you trying to emulate, since it clearly wasn't O'Reilly?

Of course I wouldn't want to emulate O'Reilly. I think he's a humorless phony.

I used to watch O'Reilly. I got tired of the bullying he did, and his ego, so bye bye Bill.

I used to watch him now and then, but my wife is on this Spanish soap opera kick...so it's Univision for me! :)

I probably won't even get to watch the game tonight.

Never trust a man wearing a bow-tie. Seriously, Tucker reminds me of what HeroOfPellinor must look like in real life. Hmmmmm... :scratches chin: Tucker? Is that you?

what?
im very confused.

anyway: yeah, i find him frustrating becuase he keeps claiming to not put any spin on anything but he chooses his words in such an offensive manner.
and so self-satisfied!

is that the best you can do? franken discredits these conservative frauds which is why they are on the cover. if he failed at it, having them on the cover wouldn't help. the fact is franken caught o reily is lies and cut him off at the knees while doing it. oreily never apologized or corrected himself, he just blew up and lied some more. thats character for ya.

i used to be a bigger o'reilly fan to be honest. i used to like him because he would ask the questions his guests didnt want to answer and refuse to let them just BS their way out it. recently, he does bully his guests some more, but i have seen some very intelligent people overcome him even when he goes into bully mode. i still think that his is one of the only shows that still asks the tough questions. most of the cnn shows will ask a question and just let the guest answer however they please--it's really a joke. however, i do watch less o'reilly these days, he used to be better.

still, franken is an ass.

I used to watch him but all the bullying kind of got annoying. The fact that he lied about breaking that story about the Florida (?) professor that was funneling money to terrorists didn't help.

Once O'Rielly became the story and he addressed himself as such his credibility took a hit.

My cable company just added a half a dozen channnels and Fox news was one of them. I guess I'll finally get to find out what all the fuss is about.

If what I hear around here is true, I won't watch much of it.

i agree completely. i think he asks the right questions...but now it only seems like he plays hardball with people he is not in agreement with. everyone else he uses his "calm voice." the episdoe last night with the new yorker writer was pretty funny becuase the writer was so calm the entire time and had very level-headed and non-daming responses. all billy seemed to want to do was press him into negativity, which seems to be the current theme of american media. (also: dude from run dmc came on after)
the only other interviews i like to watch are on the daily show. the part that intrigues me the most is that the daily show seems to lift their stories directly from "legitimate" news sources and just have steward deliver them so that we all know that its ok to laugh.

and yes, franken is an ass, but i still dont understand why o'reilly cried like a baby over that book. does anyone take franken seriously enough for it to have caused a stir on its own?

its strange to me becuase franken is a comedian. sure he's up there at the book thing with o'reilly but...did it ever occur to bill thats becuase they are both entertainers...not becuase franken is the HUGE POLITICAL FIGURE bill assumes that he is.

If you people aren't getting enough fair and balanced news, check out Scarborough Country on MSNBC at around 9 -10pm EST. Break out your American flag and start polishing your shotgun... YEEHAA!
