I didn't know there was color footage of WWI. It doesn't look artificial. It's pretty cool. I finally get to put some of the weapons in perspective (artilllery with 5.5' wheels, etc.).

sounds like colorization to me

edit: nope, guess not, color film has been around longer than i figured

I am guessing the footage had to be cleaned up and restored a great deal, since there is so little color footage from WWI.

I seen the documentary also which was facinating. This is the second time I have seen it. I believe it was on last year but it was cool seeing WW1 footage in color.

I saw the airings during the morning. The foot soldiers running into battle, the Red Baron. Better then seeing another episode of the SS.
