watching divx movies..

most my divx movies can be watched w/ windows media player...but for some reason, theres certain ones that dont work in WMP, and i have to use "THe Playa" to watch those...i have the divx codec installed too, and am using WMP 8.0...

anybody konw why this happens?

wish I knew why. Maybe some bug in the code or divx movies.

movies compressed by certain codecs (e.g. Indeo?) can't be played by WMP without adding a line to your system.ini file. Try adding "VIDC.IV41=ir41_32.ax" and it hopefully will clear up your problem.

Go here and download their player.

I was having the same problem, too. I downloaded their player, now I can see ALL my divx movies. Be careful, though.... the player comes with spyware. Other than that, I love it!

thanks for the replies guys, but still doesn't work, i can only get the audio, no picture

davestar, i tried adding that line to system.ini, but it still doesnt work..

angel: yeah, i got "The Playa" from divx.com, i can watch the movies w/ that player, but i wanna be able to use windows media player too

anybody got any other ideas?
