Is there anyway to like buy a computer box or card to install where I can plug a standard cable that you use for cable and satillite into it and watch my cable on my computer monitor? im thinking theres a program and some hardware that will let me do it somewhere!

I would imagine a TV-tuner card would work, since my dad uses one of those for digital cable, but here's a bump in case someone else has a better answer 🙂

Yeah, and good TV tuner card will work fine. I have the ATI TV Wonder PCI myself. It's fairly good but its somewhat of a pain in the ass to get it working at first. Took me about 2 hours to get it right.

The TV viewing quality is pretty good. You should use this program called Dscaler to watch instead of ATI's own MMC software though. Much better video quality but could be a problem with the audio setup.

If you want to use satellite tv on this card, you must have a reciever setup before the signal goes into your computer and you can't change the channel from within your system. You have to change the channel at the reciever with the remote. Regular cable is fine though.. I wish I still had regular cable instead of satellite.. it's a pain
