Watching an HBO special on pageants

GoingUp

Its about 5 year olds that are trying to win a national beauty pageant.

Watching these stage moms put their 5 year olds through so much pisses me off. They showed one of the little girls next to all of her trophies and she cant even remember where she won them or what she won them for.

Nothing like living your dreams out through your kid. :|

And of course this is all talking place in the south.

I have seen that before... truly disgusts me the way these moms (and sometimes dads) can get SO crazy.
I feel so bad for these little children. They just want to be kids but the parents make them grow up.
It makes me sick. :|

I watched something like that before. I turned it off after a few minutes, because it bothered me how the girls just wanted to be little girls. You could tell that many of them would have rather been outside playing, than in the pageant. It's also sad how much pressure the parents put on them to win. They act like it's the end of the world if the daughter loses and the ones I saw yelled and critisized their children about their performance.
