So I watched Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance last night. That movie was crazy.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0310775/

It's the 2nd movie of a theme'd trilogy. First one was Oldboy, then Sympathy, followed by Lady Vengeance.

They are korean films that just have an overlying theme of revenge. If you like unique, messed up movies, you should watch them.

Great "trilogy". I need to pick those DVDs up, I rented or downloaded them when I watched them originally.

I didn't care for Lady Vengeance that much, but Mr. Vengeance and Oldboy are outstanding.

Pity Will Smith is starring in the American remake of Oldboy. Not at all the right kind of roll for him.

Lady Vengeance is an odd movie. Most of it didn't do much for me, but there are scene that are just stunningly weird.

wtf... are you kidding me? They are remaking it for america? --and-- will smith will be the lead. This has fail written all over it.

When will hollywood understand that just because people like a movie from another country that it doesnt need to be destroyed.

Especially since Oldboy is modern and urban- there's not much lost in translation. It's not like a movie about feudal china, translated to the wild west.

But I don't get upset about these things, I just ignore remakes. I just wish hollywood would remake bad movies, instead of good ones..

Spielberg is either directing or producing, I don't remember, but yeah, Will Smith is the lead in it. He said its not so much a remake of the movie as it is a remake of the original manga the movie was developed from. Still sounds like a bad idea to me. But we'll see. It may never even get off the ground, but its in development.

I figure if anyone could pull it off it would be someone like David Fincher maybe.. I could maybe see Clive Owen in the lead too. But still just seems like a movie they should leave alone.

This will no doubt be nauseating...

Loved all three... its been a while but I think Lady Vengeance was my favorite. The ending of oldboy though... quite disturbing. its like the first time you see 4chan... you feel forever tainted.

Last I heard was Justin Lin is directing it. He did the ok Better Luck Tomorrow and.. Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.
