watch the cpu blow

They could only generate some smoke if they are to die, but the computer would just turn itself off, nowadays, if the cooler is removed. 🙂

Last scene, smoke comes up from under the table before anything happens. That is also why there is a hole in the table and mobo - to blow the CPU out of its socket with a firecracker.

yeah, they are using a firecracker. it was the same exact explosion for both CPUs. From the very beginning, all netburst chips had the PROCHOT code. Killing a K7 is a lot more plausible, but that isn't how they go. They will slowly, very slowly, endure physical deformation and maybe charring. There isn't going to be a 4000 joule burst.

Damn I haven't seen that in long while....I laughed at it's fakeness then and I'll laugh once again.

The old AMD Athlon T-birds used to go pop when they overheated, often with a shit load of smoke, but not like in that video.

they dont pop.

The Duron's will get hot and then eventually melt right though the motherboard. I remember tom's hardware showing us what happened when you removed the sink.

The intel however will start to throttle, expecially a P4, where it will be semi useable until it reaches shutdown.
