I just had this virus and it is effective to Microsoft Outlook and is pretty darn deadly. I had to reformat. Good thing I saved all my important stuff on my D: partion so I got to keep that but once you get it there will be a little EYE like you see with in your system tray. If you see that DO NOT restart until you have downloaded the fix.

:p

hehe...sorry, I know I shouldn't joke. :)

I've got a couple of exe files from unknown sources in the mail in the last couple of days.

The best thing to do is delete them. Never open/run them - you're asking for trouble.

My mom was the one who wasn't thinking. And this is like a worm. A person can carry the virus and not know but still keep sending it to other people. It sucks but like I said i had everything on the D: drive so it wasn't that bad....

I thought something was up when I received an e-mail about an upcoming science fair that happened last year...

There was about a million people on the list too...

Lucky me...

Posted this before but I couldn't resist to post it in this thread :)

"Hello.
You have just recieved a Norwegian virus.
Since we are not so smart in Norway, this is a MANUAL virus.
Please delete all the files on your hard disk yourself and
send this mail to everyone you know.

Thank you very much for helping me.

Yeah, I've gotten a couple of calls on this at work from people with this problem. The attachment is most of the time blantly named navidad.exe, and a big sign to watch for other than the icon thing is if you get an error of Winsvrc.exe when trying to do anything at all. That seemed to be the common issue with the calls I had been getting about it.

Your computer could still be recoverable, just go to Symantec to get more info. Right now it's listed as the highest threat.
