ATI Radeon 9800 XT (no overdrive) in Lian-Li PC-V1000 case (upside down mobo) Ambient temp: 30C
Stock HSF (Idle: 60C; load: 70+C)
ATI Silencer 3 (Idle: 50C; load: 59C)
 
BFG 6800GT (370/1000)
Idle: 66C (ambient according to the card: 48C)
Load: 83C (ambient according to the card: 60C) (load temps taken after running RTHDRIBL 1.2 for roughly ten minutes in windowed mode)

Try Programs like Eversest or check in the desktop properties --> Settings --> Advanced.

You can't really say that because sometimes the case affects the card temps too, so it's hard to tell since the cards are tested in different environments.

btw, what's RTHDRIBL?
