unless someone or something blocks you from getting it/them.

for me, one thing is an aged live bonsai tree for my desk. Dunno why i want this as it would just add a chore to water it regularly

you?

I was thinking about buying a Nintendo Switch solely to play that Zelda game. I really like expansive RPGs (at least I did in the past).

Other than that -useless to me.

Posting in a Naer thread is something that always results in being a waste of time.

Aside from that and the Mayne threads, i *try* to not buy anything that isnt productive, but that has two negative effects: it stops me sometimes from buying things i DO need. And sometimes it's just ineffective, i buy something convinced i need it, and in the end i dont.

I wouldn't say they're useless, but I don't have a pressing need; I'm gonna get a dawn redwood and some pawpaw trees.

I might have a rock or two taking up space around the house and will probably get more. "Ooh, shiny!"

I'm fixated on all manner of decor - prints, carvings, tapestries, decals, etc. Anything Old World, celtic, viking, medieval, heraldic. This one artist ... just one release after another ... keeps me ordering.

I think that a lot of us older forum members here have a collection of old computer parts and games that are worthless now.

Seriously, when was the last time I used a mouse with a PS/2 plug, or installed Quake 2 off of a CD-ROM? Why am I still keeping this crap?

Milkweed seeds/plants. I have spent a lot of time the last almost year raising the plants, even bought a plant at local nursery. So far I've only succeeded in nurturing one single Monarch to adulthood, AFAIK. A couple of mature caterpillars escaped my surveilance, if they were lucky they made it somewhere and pupated and hatched to the air, but I have no way of knowing. Ever since, somehow all eggs haven't even resulted in caterpillars, near as I can tell. I think that predators have staked out my property.

It can cause weight loss, so a small silver lining.

hmm, I never considered that. Also worth noting that the late-stage brain-eating psychosis inducing effects usually occur many, many years later. Near death, really. So it could be worse.

I just purchased a wireless charger for my phone. Figured it would be rather useless cause I have no issue just plugging my phone in but.... I actually love using it!

I'm very disappointed that nobody has said wife/husband yet.

Ewww, who would even want one of those?

I can imagine that one day I'll have a headstone. Don't want one and nobody needs one, but will probably get one anyway.

I went through a big purge when I started my family, and have gone through several ever since. Saw my friend's houses with kids, always looked like a tornado had hit lol. Outside of my odd assortment of useless now-vintage computer parts, the first thing to go were the Legos...now we just have Minecraft everywhere...on the tablet, on the TV, in the VR system. I haven't stepped on a Lego in nearly two years now :D

Next thing was the art supplies...got sick of cleaning marker off the cabinets, watercolor paints out of the carpet, etc. The iPad with the pressure-sensitive pen is a minor miracle...drawing apps with a variety of digital media, coloring-book apps, letter-tracing apps, done. No more mess! Too much screentime tho :(

Digitized all the other crap I could. Got a big flat screen TV, a Roku, and a Plex server. Copied the music, movies, and photo into the digital realm. Scan & shred all my paper mail. It's soooooo nice not having crap everywhere. Everything else gets managed by "bin technology" - bins for stuff animals, toy cars, etc. If the bin starts overflowing, then it's time to do a purge & donate to Goodwill. Keeps things clean & easy to manage!

A super top of the line high end gaming computer. Not that it's useless, but useless for me since I'm not that big of a gamer. I've always kinda wanted to build one and just go all out and get the highest end components available but I just can't justify the money so I don't do it.
