Wat are some good monitor Specs?

im planning to buy a 17" monitor
what kinds of refresh rates
dot pitch
Hz
etc

should i look for? cause i noticed some monitors flicker and try and make you go blind. and others (like the one i have), have a timebomb set for 3years and 1 month(wen the warrenty happens to expire)

Value 17":

Max Res: 1280x1024 (60-75hz)
Dot Pitch: 0.27, maybe 0.28
Recommended Setting: 1024x768 @ 85hz

Professional 17" (Triniton style tube)

Max Res: 1600x1200 (60-75hz)
Dot Pitch: 0.24 - 0.25
Recommeded Setting: 1024x768 @ 100hz

If you have the extra cash, go for a CTX/Belinea or other make of Triniton/Diamontron based monitor because the image quality is really good and the higher refresh rates do your eyes good.

I used to have a 14" Packard Bell monitor that had a maximum setting of 800x600 @ 60hz, did my eyes in playing games like Warcraft 2 & Red Alert.

My Belinea 107030 Triniton is excellent.
