Wasted power, 1000mhz for no reason. on R9 fury

I am playing eve and the game is not that graphic intensive, I have framerate target at 60fps.

But for some reason why would the GPU still work so hard? I actually went to global overdrive and dropped the speed -12% and power -12%

Game runs just as fast but the cpu runs in the 50's VS 73c and using up power for no reason.

It seems GPUs are still kind of dumb when it comes to using resources, or is this an OS issue?

I have the global setting for FRTC to 60fps

Try individual setting, some people have had to set both to get it to work.

Is that the gaming evolved option? I did not install that piece, I guess I can just re-install that piece.

I set the GPU to -50%

and power -50%

and now Eve still plays no issues but GPU temp never goes above 46c VS 71-73c

No, it can be set from the Crimson stuff, it does not need Gaming Evolved.

You could also just enable v-sync inside the game, which will prevent the card from running wild.
