Redbox rentals. Tried 2 different discs, tried all the "solutions" I could find on the net.

Finally got the game installed. Game would start to load, seizure warning screen, insomniac splash screen, then a black screen with a tiny white skull flashing in the lower right corner.

That's as far as it would go. It would stay on this screen for hours. Quitting the game caused a system reboot.

I have had no problems with any other PS3 games including the last several rentals.

I have the 250gig slim.

Resistance 3 is the biggest pile "o" suck that ever sucked. WTF is with Sony allowing such a fucked up piece of software to be released.

Things like this just confirm how superior the 360 is for gaming. Sooooo glad I never bought the game.

You get a dicked up disc from a rental kiosk and your first thought is to blame the company that makes the console?

The retardation of this post has so many layers I'm not even sure I can get through them all, but I'm going to try:

1.) Optical media gets scratched, blame the guy before you who can't handle a disc
2.) Optical media gets scratched, and I heard Redbox has some sort of reporting system to get rid of known messed up discs. I also heard they give free rental coupons as a "sorry" if you get a non-working one.
3.) Sony did not develop this game, Insomniac did. Yet you did not blame them at all... you blamed sony. Is your brain broke?
4.) You claim to have zero other problems, yet call the PS3 itself garbage and praise the 360. If it's been so stable up till now, why are you blaming the console and not the software?
5.) Praising the 360 for its stability at the end is just pure fanboy flame-bait. Especially given the incredibly awful history the 360 hardware had at release.

Mods... away with this fool. He tires me

How about we do away with you instead? The sheer audacity of this response is astounding. If you can't behave you're going straight to time-out.

Wow. Bad disc. I had uncharted on my ps3 that did the same thing. I cursed out sony for ever inventing the ps3. I bought the game brand spanking new so it could be the disc. bullshit, I brought the game back and months later I bought it used and it worked. the disc was bad. get another disc.

360 better for gaming? Tell that to my 3 dead 360s under my bed that just up and died.

Sony sucks? How about the developer, im sure they suck too.

EDIT. Resistance series is also lame, imo.

i redbox'ed r3 and had 0 problems with it. kept it 5 days and returned it, beat it start to finish.

sounds like your ps3 is fucked or you just had real bad luck w/the discs.

EDIT: and i'm not ruling out user error because the OP doesn't sound like a bright bulb.

I have 4 dead xbox consoles in my electronics graveyard and 1 working PS3...can't really say the 360 is a superior platform on the grounds that mine serve as paperweights.
