This is going to sound really dumb, but bear with me.
I bought an Asus desktop that was advertised to have an i5 - 2320 that turned out to be an i5-2310. Not a huge difference, but it has left me bummed that I got stuck with a lesser proc and I find myself looking for deals on upper end i5s.
I just found that i5-2500k can still be had for $170 from Microcenter in store. My mobo is an Asus P8H61-M-PRO. I might OC if I come across a heavy CPU game that needs it. I play through some console ports, still play MW3 , Skyrim, Fallout 3 & NV regularly.
Will I notice any sort of difference swapping in a 2500k? A few FPS?
