Waste of money to increase ram in Powerbook?

I'm constantly running out of ram and I don't know why. All I'm doing is running Leopard with Firefox with maybe 5 tabs open, iTunes, Word 2004 and Powerpoint 2004 and I'm always reaching page out status according to the activity monitor. I don't actually notice a slow down but its just that the computer is slow to begin with so I guess I just don't notice it.

Or am I completely wrong and 2gb of ram will dramatically increase the performance of the computer?

OS X loves memory. If you're planning on using the laptop for awhile I'd definitely go to 2GB.

You will see a benefit in upgrading to 2GB of RAM, I know I certainly did when I bumped my MacBook up to it from 1GB.

My Macbook and my Mac Mini have similar specs; the Mini was slow as balls with 1 GB of RAM, while the Macbook is fine with 2 GB. The Mini is much better now that I have 4 GB.
