Wasn't the game ONI supposed to be out today or yesterday? ...

It's a nice game, I'll have to admit. Graphics won't even get close to comparing with Quake 3 Arena's, but the gameplay is pretty good. You get to do hand to hand fighting as well as using guns (which feel pretty hard to use and are usually low on ammo). It's a 3rd person view shooter and it takes awhile to get used to the keys. Sometimes it feels like I need 3 hands to play this game without hitting the wrong key 🙂 But it sure is fun kicking, punching, and breaking those bad dudes' necks 😉 Oh yeah... you can slide, dash, walk, strafe, etc. and you can do flips when you jump. Pretty neat stuff, I have to say. Sound... it's ok. Not the best, but it doesn't completely suck. The dialog is one of those Japanese video game things - there's a box that appears on top of the screen and shows the face of the character who's speaking as well as the text of the dialog scrolling by.

So it did come out then? The retail version, I mean. I know the demo is out there, but I want the full version. I've heard it is a damn good game and I appreciate the narrative on it.

Yup, I just got my preorder from EB yesterday. It should prove amusing enough; the hand to hand combat in the demo was cool.

there's one MAJOR problem with this game. "Run, gun, look for console, operate console, go through the newly opened door, repeat." it's the same thing over and over again. the hand to hand fighting is dope though. the only other problem is clipping, but that is negligible.

I've played the first few chapters of it so far. In the beginning it was kinda cool, but as erikiksaz said it gets repetitive after awhile.

Prodigy69, I will keep that in mind.
To all: Thanks for the responses.
I think that I'll go ahead to EB and buy it. Have fun gentlemen and or ladies.

Folks, the repetitive gameplay ain't the problem. I've been watching Oni for maybe 18 months (geez, has it really been delayed that long?), and it's the first game I've actually purchased since FF7, so don't take me for a naysayer, but the save system absolutely kills me. I fell OUT of love with this game, despite the massively DOPE hand-to-hand action, when I spent three consecutive nights trying to advance past one single section of Level 4. Okay, it's probably because I'm not good at it yet. But come on - I don't want to save every time I beat one person. I just want to save before I try to hop across the instantly toxic bio-waste that's ten or fifteen minutes past the most recent save point. (10 mins. might not sound like much time to you, but try repeating the same 10 mins of a game for 3 hours, 3 nights in a row.)

Please!! It's the first jumping puzzle in the game, it's really far from a save point, and the consequence is instant death. I hope that they patch the save system even more than I hope that they patch LAN multiplayer.

Whew- didn't realize I was that worked up about it. Don't let my venting discourage you from buying the game if you're considering it. The hand-to-hand is wickedly fun and definitely worth the price of admission.
