I thought that this song was originally sung by a man who meant "I feel like a woman" in the same sense as "I feel like a cigar". A friend of mine disagrees with me and I can't find proof of my claim. Help?

I remember when the rumor was that Shania used to be a man, of course that was before that song came out
The song was written by a man. Not sure if anyone else sung it. It was meant to make fun of something I am just not sure of what.Originally posted by: KingNothing

I don't think Shania covered the song, it was hers.
I do know that the Shania's music video for the song had bits borrowed from Robert Palmer's I didn't mean to turn you on.
In Robert's music video, he had a bunch of chicks that looked like how Shania was dressed, playing the instruments. In Shania's, it's a bunch of guys instead...
Actually both videos by Palmer looked the same.Originally posted by: LAUST
