Wasn't AMD supposed to release bartons for 754 boards?

First i thought the semprons 2800 and lower would be in socket a and 754 but they all appear to be socket A only.

And anybody find the sempron 3100 for less than 120 dollars anywhere?

Barton + S754 will not work.

Think about it, S754 processors have an integrted memory controller.
Bartons rely on a memory controller in the northbridge.

Barton + S754 = no memory controller. Yeah ... uh... that might present a problem.

The sempron 3100+ on the 754 is about as close to a barton as you will get.

what's the point of a barton when semprons are out? if bartons could perform well enough for a socket change, the semprons wouldnt exist.
