For people that already subscribe, look at your credit cards - some have offers to give $x back on WaPo, and you can also do a start to cancel to get a half price year rate to combine the discounts. Not likely to be as cheap as this offer, but could still get to $20-$50 for a year, which isn't bad for a real paper.

Bezos doesn't need the money. A lot of public libraries will get you free access to some online newspapers; The NYT and WashPo are often included.
