I heard Adams Morgan was the "liveliest and best nightscene" that washington, DC has to offer
I went there and it was wack. It looks like any side street you see in NYC... please tell me that there's something better and with more diversity

adams morgan is pretty concentrated, but seems more collegy type atmosphere. there are some neat places scattered across the city, just have to know where to look. other popular areas would be georgetown and arlington (not dc, but on metro). my favorite place is probably brickskellar in dupont. also like some places on U street. really depends on your style

i like Brickseller too. it's kind of hidden and got a laid back atmosphere... plus drinks from across the globe. i don't go out or drink a lot, but let me know if you guys want to meet up for a couple of cold ones.

Depends on what you're looking for. Adams Morgan is mostly "I just graduated from college" bars (Tom Tom, Brass Monkey, etc) and "This place is so cool I don't know what to do here" (Saki, Chloe). There are a couple of bars with some atmosphere there, but few and far between. It's mostly a good place to get hammered, eat Jimbo Slice/Julia's Empanadas, and possibly get arrested.

If you insist on being there, try Dan's Cafe (one of the better dives in the city), Brass Monkey (looks like all the rest, but usually a lot of fun), or Adams Mill (if you're nice to the staff, they'll keep sliding you pitchers long after they stop selling them).

The best thing going in Adams Morgan is 80's night every Thurs (gets going around 11pm, dead earlier) at Heaven and Hell.

If you want better places to hang out in DC, tell me what you're looking for, and I'll see if I can point you in the right direction.

U St is kinda nuts, so close to some rough areas. I do really like Local 16, though, especially the roof in the spring/fall when its cooler out.
