Washing Machine repair question

Anyone here ever have a problem with their washing machine filling with water when not in use? I assume the water valve is not sealing tight, but wondered if anyone has had this repaired....

it's a solenoid.

Yep. Not really that hard to replace either. I've done it once. Unplug from outlet and turn water off, open back cover, unhook electric wires (plug on) from solonoid valve (there are usually two of them in the back but I have seen a double model (hot and cold) built into one unit, remove screw on water lines and unscrew bracket. Pop new one in reverse. Run. If it were to still be filling, could be relay contacts sticking keeping solonoid valve on.
