Washing Machine Question

When I do a load of laundry and leave the load in the washer for alittle while it really smells wear after words? I basically have to wash the clothes again. I think there is some sort of baceria in my washer? Possible?

lol....

So it surprises you when you leave wet organic material in a dark, damp location and it starts to grow sh!t? 😛

It happens to everybody. You aren't supposed to leave your clothes in the washer.

Washing with bleach will help, though.

Just how long do you leave your laundry in the washer? A few minutes? A few hours? A few days? You're really not supposed to leave 'em in there for more than a couple hours at most...everything will grow sh!t if you leave wet organic material in a dark, damp location.

Futher, DO NOT USE REGULAR BLEACH ON COLORED ITEMS. Only use "color safe" bleach.

Gotta love ATOT...from girls to beer to washing machines, we answer it all.

Yeal, it happens. Be careful with the bleach - don't use it on clothes unless you know what you're doing. The best thing to do is run the washer with no clothes in it, pour in a lot of bleach and some soap. Kills whatever you got temporarily. Then for a while you can be more lazy about getting those wet duds on to the next part of their laundry journey.

I do this about once a month. YMMV.

If you want to keep your washing machine clean you should periodically run an empty load with a gallon of vinegar poured in it. The vinegar will remove any rust, bacteria, and other nasties that will get on you clothes from the machine.
