Washer/Dryer In One?

Why hasn't anyone made a machine that can wash AND dry your clothes in one. Where I live we have front loading washing machines, which are more efficient and wash your clothes better, so the mechanism is pretty much standard. I know that some people like to pipeline their laundry, but I can get a load washed in 30 minutes, and dried in 30 minutes, frankly I don't mind sticking a load in every hour rather than rotating every 30 minutes. Is there something out there or have I found an untapped niche (which will soon be exploited by all you ATOTers out there)

really you don't want me to become a nudist.

ElFenix ... why did they suck?

take longer and are more likely to break than separates

Wow ... thats really neat. I kind of like the idea of doing a small load every day. I have a friend who always waits until the LAST possible second to wash his clothes. He has a 2 month supply of boxers ... and the last 2-3 days he goes commando.

BTW .. why is it called going commando? If there was ONE time in my life that I would want to have underwear on, it would be when I was in a swamp up to my elbows in mud being shot at. At least I'd have the support and comfort I need.

wow, you want one unit, and I've been thinking to myself for the past 3 months...
"I already ran the wiring for one washing machine, why don't I run another circuit for another washing machine? Then, all I need to do is put in another washer, put a tee on the gas line and put in another dryer, and it truly becomes a laundry room."

Then, I wouldn't need clothes hampers... put the darks in one washer, lights in the other, and when they have enough clothes to wash, turn them on.

I had thought about that when I was a kid.

I've read reviews on a couple different models recently, and it seems like they haven't made a good washer and a good dryer in one yet. The only time the compromise is worth it, is if you have extremely limited space for laundry.

iirc london flats have these and they are usually the suck. they apparently don't do either job as well as separates. they don't wash that well and they don't dry very well. which meant my mates over there usually had to run loads multiple times or put up with not-so-clean damp clothes.

I would love to have two washers and two dryers. That would make laundry day a lot more time-efficient.
