It's clearly wrong because it's repulsive, and it's degrading to society. Why is prostitution banned? Who's the victim?
I'm repulsed by your attitude. Should not your religious opinions be banned too?
And protitution is not banned. Thats why Nevada is able to excercise its right to have it.
Also, there are less victims in protitution than in marriage. Last I checked marriage is still legal too.

Normally I wouldnt jump on you so harshly because you usually make intelligent posts, but this is one of those times where you show not only your ignorance but also stupidity.
Just because YOU dont like something doesnt mean America as a whole dislikes it.

And please dont offer up the lame-ass excuse that "Society must not like certain things because they made them illegal". Half of the illegal activities in this country were made so because fanatics/zealots like you routinely strong-arm our congressmen. (Which, by the way, is also illegal. Seperation of church and state was made for a very good reason. Funny how the bible-thumpers always forget about that one, but can recall 200 year old laws banning the sale of liver on thursdays.)

Wrong. This law isn't really made to protect animals. If a woman willingly lets a male dog do her doggy style, they'd still charge her with "cruelty to animals" even though no cruelty is taking place. In fact, the dog wants it.

The law was more realistically made to ban what people find disgusting.

Actually, I don't think they would charge her with cruelty to animals, for that very reason. It wouldn't stick. Which is why they made this new law.

$300,000 bail for sex with a dog?

Why is bestiality even illegal? Concern for the welfare of animals, or moral outrage that someone might "get off" with a sheep? If you can kill an animal, then why can't you screw it?

The guy should be charged with some kind of animal cruelty charge, given a $100 fine, and sent home.

What kind of wife would take pics and go to the police? Where is the loyalty?

Yeah, Separation of Church and State, just make sure you keep your own religious views (or lack therof) out of the law.

Give that old argument a rest, religious ethics is who we are, it's not a church or whatever, but what we personally believe/disbelieve. How can what we personally believe not make it into laws that we ourselves set up? You yourself have religious ethics, even if those don't line up with any specific church/religion/denomination; you have some moral outlook on life, that much is proven by your post.

Separation of Church and State does not mean that the State is atheist or otherwise uncaring about any certain morality, it means that the Pope doesn't have legal authority.

And with that I'm going to bed, you can flame me or whatever but don't expect me to respond.

(edited to put 'specific' in front of 'church/religion/denomination,' I think it's less likely to be taken as hateful this way)

300k bail is insane. There are people committing violent acts against humans who get a much lower bail than that.

I really dont want to flame you but I am having a hard time wording this politely.

Do you not have any idea what religion is?
It is NOT personal beliefs. It is an organization designed to spread group beliefs.

I dont have personal[/] religious beliefs, mostly because I have not started my own religion.
Although in the small amount of time I went to church I did pickup on some christian morals and ethics. But truthfully I dumped all the ones that helped sustain the concept of religion (which is most of them).
I wouldnt know about the Popes legal authority or lack of it, I do know that when the forefathers made this country they didnt want a man of religion have legal control over it.

My current ethics, morals, values, mores and virtues have been aquired over the last 9 years since I left home and started interacting with the world. Some of them are similar to those I learned back at home when I was inexperienced in the ways of the world and had to have my ideals forced into me.

And I dont know where you got the idea I said that Seprtation of Church and State meant the state is atheist. Unless you werent interpreting my words and were just making a point. In which case I respect it.

Wash. man accused of sex with pit bull

Associated Press

TACOMA, Wash. -- A Spanaway man accused of having sex with a dog is apparently the first person in the Washington state charged under a new bestiality law.

kgw.com graphic

Pierce County prosecutors said 26-year-old Michael Patrick McPhail was caught by his wife on Wednesday night having intercourse on the back porch with their four-year-old female pit bull terrier.

The wife took photos with a cell phone and called police.

"There's pretty clear proof what happened to this dog," said Pierce County sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer.

McPhail was arrested that night. He is held on $300,000 bail and is reportedly on suicide watch in the jail in Tacoma.

Charged with animal cruelty, he could be sentenced to a year in jail if convicted.

The bestiality law took effect in June. It was prompted by an incident in Enumclaw where a man died after having sex with a horse.

I just can't comprehend what goes on in some peoples heads...

I am not sure who is more humiliated though the guy or the wife...

"sorry honey, not tonite... I had a woof, err, I mean rough day.."

Beastiality has been going on for a long time, so this doesnt prove that the end is near.
But your attempt at a joke on the other hand....
