Was today's season premier of Star Trek Voyager any good?

They all died. It's the only episode of the season.

Of course, if the ratings are any good, Paramount will just crash Voyager into the Genesis Planet, and presto, everybody is resurrected until rerun season.

Not if Jeri Ryan stars from now on in VIP or Baywatch or if she becomes Ally McBeal's lesbian lover with lots of scantily clad kissy scenes! :Q

It was pretty good compare to other episodes... I would say it is one of the episodes worth watching...

But next week's episode, Jeri Ryan may die! (but I seriously doubt it...)

Now that would be some recruiting material.

Jerry Ryan in a promo spot - "AnandTech's TACube - Be Assimilated and like it!"

The Borg Queen in a promo spot - "We're looking for a few good Dutch Power Cows."

Lt. Tuvok in a promo spot - "It's not an emotional choice. Team AnandTech Naked Crackers is the place to be."

If you missed it, FOX will repeat it Sunday night.

I liked it even though the episode was weak. The Borg sure have gotten careless and stupid in their encounters with the humans. At least they may get a new queen . . .

Compared to the other Borg cliffhanger with Picard - it sucked. For a "Voyager" episode, it was ok.

EDIT: What was up with Tuvok? He is one weak-ass brained Vulcan. He must have been out of his vulkin' mind.

apoppin,

That was what bothered me. It seemed to easy to infiltrate the Borg.

As for Tuvok, I think it probably has to do with his innate telepathic powers.

dl,

Yeah, but I heard it will be on Pay Per View. Fortunately, you'll be able to name your own price.

ltk007, i remember watching the pilot episode of Voyager when i was a freshman...pretty excited to see a fresh new series in the star trek universe.

didn't bother watching another after that first one.

ok, so it wasn't as disappointing as phantom menace, but still...

You're right Russ. It was waaaay to easy. It's like the Borg Queen took "stupid" pills.

"Janeway, we'll blow up MORE of OUR drones and ships if you don't comply. It'll be on your conscience." Like, wow - what a threat - kill more of Janeway's enemies.

The the Borg Queen actually took Janeway's advice to visit Unimatrix Zero. Did the Borg technology totally fail? How is it they couldn't override the Doctor's "anti-assimilation" pills with Janeway (unlike Tuvok)?

The Queen knew she couldn't "hear" Janeway and the engineer. Where was the security against the virus?

Ok, I changed my mind - the episode SUCKED. Now I hope they don't make it back to earth.

EDIT: Why did they bother to take Tuvok anyway?

My biggest complaint about Voyager is that they have some really good potential bad guys, yet the writers woosifies them all. The Borg were kick ass when they were first introduced into the ST universe, but now they're a bunch of wimps. Come on, they nearly destroyed the Federation with just one cube during the next generation series, but now a lone Federation ship can take them on and win? How redicilous is that? Then there was the Borg queen giving up and blowing up her ship? For some of the things Voyager's writers do, they should be shot.

ooo a retro trek series? That would be so neat hehe. If shatner didn't sell off any priceline shares during the high, he'll also need the money:) women in miniskirts, and the slogan changed back to "go where no man has gone before" hehe
