My Onvia purchase of the PIII667 133 did not indicate SCC2 in the description....I'm new to this, so, obviously the processor was not being secured by the slot1 supports. Onvia was very VERY accomodating and offered to replace mine with the PIII700 100 flip (for a few $$'s more) I agreed. But I needed to find the Host converter (they were out of stock).

I found this on COOLINGFAN.COM For $10.00 WILL THIS WORK??? and IS IT A GOOD ONE TO BUY????
PPGA Convertor
Full support for PIII Coppermine & Celeron PPGA processors using PGA370 socket
Support bus speed of 66MHZ/100 MHZ
PCB size: 5"x2.76"
Orders over $20.00 have free shipping, so I added these:

COOLING FAN ALARMAudio alarm is activated when DC fan is stop running or when its rpm is low, for all 40~90 mm DC fan with 4 Pin or 3Pin, Selective detect one fan & two fan per unit, for $5.00
and
FAN SPEED: 2400RPM AIR FLOW : 42CFM
NOISE : 26dBA CURRENT : 0.15A
PCI & ISA Slot.
BLOWERRegular price: $20.00Sale price: $10.00

Please advise on these Items as I am very new to this and I don't want to have any problems with my system. Any help would be greatly appreciated. THANK YOU ALL!!!

I'm a litle confused by your message, but I assume you're trying to put an FC-PGA P3 CPU into a Slot 1 mobo of some sort and so you need a slocket adapter and a fan.

Go to:
http://www.gamepc.com/index.asp.

Check out their CPU accessories at:
http://www.gamepc.com/gpc/estore_aisle.asp?item=2&tp=.

The Abit Slocket is as good as any name brand slocket adapter. The best fans are the Alphas, but they are very expensive. Some people like the Golden Orb fan, which is compact, but I don't see it at GamePC. GamePC is supposed to be helpful and reliable, but maybe not cheap - they have a mid-5 rating out of 7 at reselleratings.com, I believe.

your accessment is correct.....
1)Did I buy the correct Items already?
2)Are there different configurations for the Host Adapters which
result in varying performance and features?

actually, the real important question is:
SINCE THE DESCRIPTION ONLY SAID ["SUPPORTS 66, 100mhZ"]
AND IT DID NOT INDICATE "133MHz"
"WILL I BE ABLE TO OVERCLOCK THE PROCESSOR USING THIS FCPGA TO SLOT1 ADAPTER???

Do yourself a favor and just go to FRY's and pick up an Iwill slot one converter. Costs about $20. I had a generic $8 one and it didn't do the dance. I have the Iwill and a 600@800 default voltage. Didn't try any higher cuz I'm happy at that speed.

well, the plot thickens...
I ordered a MS-690 Master converter card from slot1 to socket 370 from Onvia. (back ordered)
I had seen on Intel's site a very interesting page with "approved" and "disapproved" converters.

C:\WINDOWS\Desktop\Boxed Intel(R) Pentium(R) III Processors in the FC-PGA Package.htm
Table 1. Slot-to-Socket Adapters that Meet Minimum Functional and Voltage Requirements of the Pentium® III Processor in the FC-PGA Package
Table 2. Slot-to-Socket Adapters That DO NOT Meet Minimum Functional and Voltage Requirements of the Pentium® III
Processor in the FC-PGA Package

The one I bot from COOLERSTAR.COM (not coolingfan.com) was not for the copperrmine per the rep I spoke to today...even though the prod desc did indicate it was. But, it also was not listed on the Intel charts.
I also noticed that most ver x.0 of these devices end up being revised into compliance to be "accepted".

BRAND: Micro-Star(rev 2.0)

SSA NAME: MS-6905 Master (rev 2.0)

242-CONTACT SLOT CONNECTOR MOTHERBOARDS BASED ON Intel 440BX AGPset:
BXMaster MS-6163Pro MS-6119

I do not understand the last ITEM above from this chart..

Still the issue remains, which ones work with which mobo's (440bx)?
which one inhibit the OCing of the processors?
which ones are the best to buy?
too many questions...so little time...
