Was this Family Guy episode drawn and rendered in a 3D program?

i thought many cartoons became combination hand drawn/cg starting many years ago, esp with the vehicles in futurama for instance. certainly coloring cells became the first thing to go, no more paint when you can fill so quick on a computer.

All I know is that, that episode was my favorite because it had family guy and house in episode! :)

couldn't get past the ad.

Maya etc. have toon shading & can certainly be used to do 2D-ish animation.

i think Flash is way more friendly for that purpose.

I'd guess most of them use 3d software. I know South Park does even though it has the simplest 2d look.

That tousle hair commercial at beginning is hilarious. God, women are stupid. I can't believe they fall for that sh*t.

I don't mean to intend men aren't stupid, too.

Maya with toon render is used to produce a lot of cartoons people think are 2d, some of them are family guy, futurama , south park.
