Was there ever an extreme edition for the 533 bus?

Im looking to upgrade the cpu for my 533 bus motherboard. I could have sworn that there was an extreme edition for the 533 bus produced awhile ago, but cant find anything on a ebay or internet search.

Would it be a much better upgrade over a 3.06 w/ht? I have a 6800gt and Pentium 2.4b and looking to get dell's 24" lcd which has 1920x1200 and think a cpu upgrade would really help.

Nope, no such thing. I'd suggest just overclocking your 2.4b, as most of them overclock decently (if your motherboard allows). The 3.06 w/ ht may be worth it if your mobo supports hyperthreading.

Oh. It much have been for the 800mhz bus that I was thinking about. I used to be able to overclock to 2.7 with no problems, but then I went from 2 sticks of 256mb rdram to 4 sticks of 256 rdram and lost the ability to overclock. It must be the ram holding me back from an overclock?

Also, the 3.06 w/ht is the highest I can go with the gigabyte GA-8IHXP and I think alltogether with the 533 bus.

There's no such animal. The EE's started at 3.2GHz (when they were first released), and only on the 800MHz FSB.
