Was there ever a wireless controller for SNES?

No way. There is now wireless SNES controllers but not back when that system was out.

I remember there being wireless controllers for the older systems. Can't say this is the specific one I'm looking for but it's fits the description.

But yeah, back then they didn't have Bluetooth so it was infrared.
