...You turned a dial to adjust the weights? I believe I saw something like that in Dicks Sporting Goods at one point but can't seem to remember the name/find it online

I'm talking about a full home gym, that did multiple exercises...not just the bowflex dumbells. I don't think bowflex made this machine..

You can do a lot with a bench and dumbbells, no need for one of those machines with miles of cables inside. imo a good home gym would be a bench, dumbbells, and power rack with a bar and plates.

There's lots of freeweight exercises for any body part you can think of, biggest ones for legs are the squat and deadlift, then you have lunges, cleans...

The gym I go to has these machines. You just press a button and the weight increases or decreases. Dunno if they are what you are thinking of though.

hmmm maybe, what are they called? the one in dicks sporting goods i don't think was any more than a grand $.
