Was the GeForce 2 (GTS) known for being blurry at higher resolutions?

I was doing a search to find out what would cause my monitor to look crappy at 1600x1200x32@85-100Hz, and I noticed that there are a few threads around where people were complaining about poor image quality at high resolutions?

I have access to a 16MB ATi Rage 128 that I'm going to try in my system and see if the image improves. Right now I'm using a 32MB GF2 GTS.

I've tried 60, 75, 85 and 100. They all look blurry.

Yes, the GF2 series (and before) was known for its lousy 2d output quality.
