was the french and american revolution that different?

here are things that i thought were alike:
both had document that showed natural rights of man
both reflected enlightment ideas
both spooke of equality before the law
both had importnat events that pushed the revolution forward

French Revolution: absolute, behead the Bourbons, redraw the counties, re-define measurement. Then the Terror, Napoleon, and return of the Kings, but also the Century of Revolutions, and ultimately the Second Republic in mid-19th Century.

American Revolution: partial, cast off the English and install democracy, but compromise with traditions, leave slavery intact for 100 years and continue genocide against the Natives. Then Civil War, then 100 more years of institutional racism. Then full ranging freedom in last decades of the 20th Century

American Revolution: Liberty and JUSTICE for white males, later for all.

French was ruled by absolute monarchy.

The American colonies are partial because the colonists had a great deal of self-government during the colonial period.
Each of the 13 colonies was a separate entity, with its own governor and legislative assembly.
Each colony had a representative assembly with authority to make laws covering most aspects of local life.
