Was the 6th season of Stargate: SG1 the first one under the Sci-fi Channel?

I just watched the first episode (Redemption Part 1) from my DVD Set and it "looks" and "feels" a bit different from the past seasons. The cinematography looks different. The sets look different too. Can't really explain it. Like did they used film in the past and are now using video?

as a huge stargate sg1 fan i should know this for sure... but I think that you are correct. They had no need to make obvious commercial-break situations when they were with Showtime, but with Sci-Fi they had to direct the show in a way to incorporate commercials better. I think this was explained in the commentary 😉
