Was something happening at LAX tonight or something with planes

They were pretty close together all coming in from east LA to LAX, at least 12 and they were coming in almost 2 at a time, it was BY FAR the most amount of planes i have seen at one time that close, hell the 2 planes coming in together were the closest i had seen planes in the air, if u were in one of the planes you could easily see th next plane out your window

I thought was normal. Once I was at Some Airport in Minnesota ( thi biggest one) and once the plane landed nd was taxiing, I got a DIRECT view of the runway and everything behind it....

Let me tell you, it was quite mind-blowing. The area of sky behind us had this massive line of planes waiting to land. What a site.

I've landed next to another plane before. I believe it was in SF, but don't really remember. The other plane was pretty much neck-and-neck with ours, landing on a parallel runway. Kinda cool to watch, really.

Yeah, parallel approach is normal in SF. Some pilots warn the passengers that this is normal mode of operation, please do not freak out and remain in your seats.

Last time I was at MSP International there were cops wandering around with machine guns... THAT was mind blowing.
