I encrypt my router with a WEP security since I don't think it matter since I live in a suburb.
A moment from while I am typing this post, my internet suddenly became slow as in I couldn't access some websites, go on google and stuff like that.
But after I pull the plug on my router and replug it my internet was fine.
What do you think happen? I am using a linksys router.

Could be spyware.
Could be windows.
Could be a bad router.
Could be an overheating router.
Could be a trojan.
Could be a wardriver.

Install CCleaner, Adaware, Spybot, Avast, ZoneAlarm, Firefox with Adblock Plus, and the latest Windows updates. Change your security to WPA-PSK TKIP or AES. Or buy a Mac. Or setup a Pfsense router.

So you started making a post about a problem which occurred while you were making this post?

There's no way to possibly tell with that little info. Could have been a problem with your ISP, the router itself, your computer, or a hacker, no way to narrow it down. Why use WEP even if you are in the suburbs though? Considering how easy it is to break WEP isn't really security any more.

Well after I restart my router it ran back to normal.

Don't worry about it. Sometimes routers can lock up or slow down, and a power cycle is a quick to fix it.

Usually if I ever have an internet problem, the first thing I do is power cycle both the modem and router. It fixes my problem ~80% of the time.

WEP is easily crackable these days.

It probably wasn't somebody, but change it over to WPA2 anyway.

Because linksys has the worst firmware I've ever seen. The logs on mine were totally useless, until I installed DD-WRT. The OP should do the same. I also recommend getting Tcpview, and see what is going out on your pc.

This statement really cracked me up. How many hackers have you met that were from the hood?:p

Not sure what it could be.

For security I use:
WPA2-PSK
a 15 digit key
a hidden SSID
my SSID uses upper and lower case (from my experience the SSID is case sensitive)
and MAC address filtering

You could always check the DHCP client list and see if there are any MAC addresses beyond what there should be.

Sounds like a classic case of warlogging. You'd better format and reinstall right away before they get permanent access.
