..I agree. it's a trick question.
Are you fvcking kidding?
You have more sense than that, don't you?
This is not an agree or disagree question, all events in the course of history made America what is is today.
Africans were put into slavery because they were thought to be lower than the white man.
Nowadays, many people in the south still think that black people are lower than the white man.
Without slavery: Some people dislike blacks (No past of slavery + US would have less Africans)
With slavery: Some people dislike blacks (Past of slavery + US would have more Africans)
If slavery didnt occur in the USA it would be a better place because...
questions on reparations would not have arisen
racism would be less than it is today
population percentage of African American would likely be lower but more assimilated
cheap labor from countries all over the world would have simply replaced slavery
those that got rich off the labor of slaves would likely have still got wealthy but not excessively so
I do not believe america would not be as far along as it is today. I believe we would be better off simply because we would not have this black versus white racism nearly as bad as it became or is today. Society would already be past it and our country would be stronger than ever.
There would be much less social problems, but I don't know about economics/development of the country.
My opinion is that yes we would be better off if the USA had never participated in the slave trade, however theres no way to know wether somthing just as bad or worse might have happened instead which would have had a similar effect on American society if that were the case.
thats exactly wtf I have been saying.
