OK, why?

I don't want them having to rewire things to handle the UPS required for FIOS. I don't want them taking out my copper wiring from the house to the street because once that happens, I am a trapped Verizon customer - I can't switch to another phone company unless that company will re-run copper back to the house.[\q]
Unless you have a specific objection to it, VOIP would be a valid option should you be removed from the outside line. In fact, wiring the whole house for VOIP would actually be easier once they do.

Are you sure about that? Do you have more than one account going to your home?Originally posted by: Wingznut
I got FIOS last month and they didn't remove my copper lines.
I'm absolutely positive... They ran the FiOp from the street to my house a week before I had Fios installed, which I helped the guy install.Originally posted by: Muadib

Adelphia is a cable company, this thread is about Fios!!!Originally posted by: Sphexi
I have Adelphia. I think I'm on their 3mbps/768kbps service, for something like a bajillion dollars a month. Seriously, with basic cable it's almost $100 a month. Whenever I open their bill my bottom instinctively tightens up, and a tear comes to my eye. But it's either that or Verizon DSL, which up here is limited to 1.5mbps/512kbps, and is pretty shoddy on the oldschool lines we have all over.
