Last night on the way to the bar (I was very drunk already) I saw this homeless-looking guy on the subway hunched over. He wasn't moving whatsoever. With all the noise there is no way he could have been sleeping.
So I walked over to him (my friends were all laughing at me by this point) and I was like "mister are you all right? mister are you okay?" and I saw the clean needles in one hand and his other hand was clutching his chest.
He never woke up or even moved a bit, not a head up or anything.
So I walk up to the conductor's booth (very irregular for me, usually I ignore problems...but I was so f'd up last night). I knock on the booth, guy opens it and I told him I think the guy was shooting up. I don't want to get the guy in trouble but he genuinely looked like he was in need of help. The conductor couldn't give a sh!t and was just "oh its okay he is just sleeping". I had been halfway down the line at this point (30 mins) and knew that the guy wasn't going to get up on his own. I said (a little loudly I think) "he is right there, behind that Asian woman and he was definitely shooting up tonight". He was like "okay okay, I'll call it in to main".
I go back and sit down. I noticed the Asian woman is just gawking at me as are some others. I don't know if its because she thought I was talking sh!t about her (perhaps--she couldn't see the guy from her view) My friends yelled at me for doing it *sigh*
Was this unacceptable behaviour?
PS this is in Canada so its different than the USA in that he wouldn't get jailtime for it or anything. I figured they probably deal with tons of homeless peeps and someone could help him out.
