It has been determined that there is no intelligent life at the source of the signal because it was spam sent by a tele-marketer.

They couldn't understand that signal because they had it upside-down. It really said, "Mom."

Internet marketer ... ;)

BTW, is this not somewhat to heavy to send over the internet?

lol when you scroll over the Spam Black Pepper it says "Stinky French Garlic" ;)

Edit: Also very interesting article! Thanks!

After a small experiment I have discovered that it only works in Internet Explorer. FYI

SETi projects are such a waste of time. Wish they would abandon them for some real science or cause.

LoL!

Oh, BTW, I do not agree. If we were limited to "some real science"in our thinking, then the engines, antibiotics and much of the stuff we use every day still would need inverntion.

Much of the stuff we use everyday is bandaids compared to what we could be using.

I'm going to laugh if you find E.T with SETI and did not use the same computing power/time to make the Engine you needed to get there.

Lol, you can't use computing power alone to design utterly new engines & technology to get us the huge distances to other star systems, that requires huge amounts of research into harnessing new types/unused energy & experimentation, in other words lots of people need to be studying it.
Plus if you want to meet ET in person (most probably centuries off re above) you'd want to know where they are 1st.

In the meantime we can try to 1st prove they are out their & where they are, so no you're wrong, it most certainly isn't a waste of time.

In case you hadn't noticed mankind hasn't limited itself to just sorting out his home problems 1st, if he had then for 1 us Brits (& others) wouldn't of gone exploring for new worlds, settled the North American continent ~400yrs ago (not to mention south by the Spanish) who then go on to independance nearly 200yrs latter to form one of the greatest nations on the planet!

So SETI is a real science for a real cause, just it has very long term goals & are not 'home' issues :p.

Btw merely just saying that xxxx project around here is a 'waste of time' is considered trolling.

Aren't you curious to know if their are aliens out there?

imaheadcase probably means that we have more urgent problems to solve at the moment (cancer, malaria, climate change, flu, recession) than searching for ET's address ;)

OT: this is post 777 looks great :)

Lol

Well we all spend some time & resources on things that are fun &/or interesting rather than purely essential :).
