Go fu.ck himself?

Reason?

Well, as I understand it, Leahy had been berating Cheney on the Senate floor for the "idiot" public, but when in private, Leahy came up to say hello to Cheney in a friendly manner; (ie, Leahy was just performing for "us.")

Cheney however, wasn't playing the game.

Am I the only one proud when people from the Bush admin get berated when they continually refuse to answer questions?

His sentiments may be on the mark, but I expect more from a public official than to say that at any sort of official gathering - "off the mic" or not.

I'm sorry, you're on the wrong thread. The whining and complaining forum is two down

Not in the open. I think a lot of guys in Congress and the executive branch need to go fvck themselves, but if they come out and say it in those terms, that's unacceptable. There are a lot of guys on both sides of the aisle who work for no one but themselves, and that's an unacceptable condition of government.

Yeah, it's real smart of Cheney to tell him off. He just as well tell everyone who disagrees with him to go fvck themselves. If he could get away with it, that's all he would ever say.

But your "proud" of him!! :disgust:

Nice of you to troll it up too. It only happened, what, a year or so ago?? As far as Leahy goes, he should be happy Cheney didn't gun him down in a hunting accident.

Pens, it was mentioned in another thread which reminded me about it.

I sincerely wish they quit being such pussies and knock each other out when they spread lies about each others families in order to beat one another in an election...

Politicians are the biggest scum in our society.. yet we give them the ability to make the rules for us

Cheney does not play by the rules and he displays an arrogance that goes beyond any sense of decency or decorum.

As someone else posted I hope you're the only one but I doubt it. Many people have a false sense of bravado.

Leahy is one of the most honest, upright people in Washington. Cheney is one of the most slimy, underhanded weirdos ever to grace the VP's quarters.
You shouldn't be proud. It was a slimy, back alley sort of action. Should everyone down there conduct themselves that way if they perceive they have differences with someone?
What about civility?
People like you make me mistrust Republicans. The wacky, "Bring it yo" attitude strikes me as unhinged.

PS, you ARE trolling.

Cheney should learn to separate his work from private life and not take it personally. Leahy's work is politics, and as a politician, he criticizes opposing politicians and their policies as part of his job. But that doesn't stop him from being civil with them in private, which is the way it should be. Look at Bush and Clinton.

Leahy's "performing" was just doing his job; his criticism of Cheney was professional. Dick's response, in relative privacy, was personal. Civil professionals can keep the two separate. Cheney apparently cannot.

So you are think its acceptable for Leahy to be duplicitous; essentially being phony for the benefit of "the people" but not really believing what he's saying and still kissing Cheney's ass behind the scenes?
