OK, i had a bad day. Kerry lost the election so that was depressing (but expected), went over to buy a rockstar drink before my math test and i was getting late so i got out of the class, my backpack decides to unzip itself and my crap flew everywhere. Got in class, did quite bad on a really easy test (what was i thinking?)

After that, i went to my geology class, and some people did presentation on their projects. The first one was decent, but the 2nd one was a total waste of time. The student put on music which drove me nuts for 15 minutes and the presentation sucked, the slides sucked, blah blah blah. After the presentation i went off on it, saying that the presentation was not focused enough.

Now... It's a common knowledge that the presentation was a joke. I probably wouldn't have said anything if i wasn't having a bad day but i feel bad afterwards for saying it, even though it is the truth. Blah.

edit for capitalization

unless you are a TA or some sort of instructor, i wouldnt really care at all

you were a bit of an ass. so you had a bad day... big deal. you gotta learn to keep a straight face even thru deep sh!t. even though the presentation might have sucked and deserved whatever you said about it, it's better to shut up when in a really bad mood.

GOD: who were you before you got banned?

If you gave constructive feedback without an attitude that is one thing but if you leaned more towards the "humiliate someone in a precarious situation" realm I would apologize. You might want to stop the person that did the presentation and just let them know how bad of a day you were having, it was nothing personal, yadda yadda yadda. You don't have to tell them you liked their presentation, but let them know you are sorry you disrespected them.

i didn't think i was actually taking it out on the student. I thought the presentation was off topic for most of it and i just told the student that it should've focused more on geology.

did you really have to post something like this?

Ok, I think you were somewhat of an ass, but we all have bad days. I'd just make sure those people know the real you, and that you aren't typically suck a jerk.

No. In fact, I applaud you. Being in a major where presentation of the work you have done for a class is a key element of most of your classes, I've seen my share of POS projects where I have to bite my tongue because I don't want someone to hate me for lowering their grade. I've come to just shut my mouth on final presentation day because I'd rather see people pass with their sh!tty skills so that there isn't any competition for the companies that offer positions only to students.

Busting someone for trying to BS their way through a presentation is awesome. You get out of a project what you put into it and short of the entire class pointing and laughing after you got done it sounds like they got what they deserved.
