And if she buys the house she will be your new neighbor!
This. I would have tried to be courteous and understanding of her difficult parking scenario. Especially since OP wasn't going anywhere at the time and still could have got out if he wanted.

Look at at this way, you offered her some solid advice regarding her potential home-purchase decision: maybe zeze would be a shitty neighbor?

Dude c'mon, we're gonna need some MS Paint drawing(s). I can't quite picture the scenario otherwise.

Well, after reading your harsh descriptions of the mother and daughter it seems to me that you are aging into a Clint Eastwood "get off my lawn" kind of guy rather than a Mr. Rogers "won't you be my neighbor" guy. I personally prefer the latter for neighbors. I assume you are hoping that they didn't like the house...
The best neighbors are ones you never see or hear. When I bought a house in 2008, one of my neighbors came over and said "Welcome to the neighborhood. We keep to ourselves and like quiet. If there's an emergency, let us know."

It was like heaven. I never spoke to him again, though I did move his trashcan back under his carport when it was storming.

I think that your ultimate motive is to influence the eventual outcome of what neighbor you get. To you, BMW = no, Hyundai = yes.

You'd think that, until you experience really friendly neighbors. Chinese immigrants have moved into my block and they really, really keep to themselves. They won't even wave back when you greet them. It's like they're invisible.

In contrast, every black neighbor on my block has been awesome. They care about the appearance of the houses, super friendly, share info about our neighborhood, invite us over for food, watch out for us, etc. Those are the best neighbors.

The worst have been Filipinos, at least for me. Every one of them brought in at least one other family into their house. They take up all the guest parking spots, have parties late at night, play loud music, etc. There are no more on the block since every one of them had their homes repossessed. And then those houses were taken over by Chinese immigrants.

I was raised way out in the woods and I'm an introvert in my personal life (yet strangely very extroverted about school and work). I have no desire to go on someone else's property much less eat dinner at their house. I was raised that eating at someone else's house is extremely rude and it's just stuck with me. If I can't live next to the deep woods, I'd like to live next to your invisible neighbors. People out partying and making noise is an absolute no-go. I don't even want to hear out out washing your car or playing with your kids.

I'm a freak. :p

It's more awkward than you'd think when you wave at your neighbor and they just give you a blank stare back. Or they'll stand in the middle of the road and just expect you to drive around them. It's like I'm a ghost to them.

Getting home cooked meals from your neighbors is AWESOME. I had an Armenian family that invited the whole block over for dinner. You can't beat that kind of friendliness. The people on the block used to have get-togethers and greet new neighbors. But once the Chinese immigrants moved in, all that stopped. Kinda sad about losing that feeling of camaraderie amongst my neighbors.

Sounds like a mild version of hell to me, but I'm happy that you've got neighbors you like. That's hard to find.

The only neighbors are the ones with dogs, and we exchange pleasantries while to dogs sniff each others butt. I know all their dogs names, and a couple of the peoples names.

And I'm good with this

We are surrounded by El Salvadorns with about 2-3 families per house, all of the street parking consumed by all of their cars, and daily, unending, base and loud-ass parties. Summers are intolerable. Calling the police on them constantly doesn't seem to bother them all that much.

The Filipinos that I have known have been pretty chill people, though.

Some of my best friends are Filipino and Chinese. If there's a silver lining, my neighbor situation has given me an opportunity to tease them.

I used to live near a school, so would have soccer mothers parking their beast like cars half across my driveway on a regular occasion. People are entitled, what can you do.
