I just got done watching this (I know, I know . . . late to the party. Gotta love MCE.

) and I came away with a different impression . . . I didn't feel like Clinton or Bush were responsible for 9/11 at all, and to state emphatically that either was misconstures the entire situation.
I don't think you can look at any one person and cast blame - but when you have all sorts of government personnel at varying levels making decisions in regards to national security while at the same time trying to cover their butts and keep their jobs, it doesn't go together well. There were all sorts of opportunities for Bin Laden to be killed, but people hemmed and hawed around, played it safe, and did nothing. If just one person or group of persons had stuck their necks out and taken a risk, things might have ended differently. Take the INS agent who refused to let one of the hijackers in. He did the right thing, but as his coworker said, "Okay, but you're taking the hit on it." Or the bomb squad guys who removed the VIN number from the wreckage to keep it from being destroyed. They got reamed, but having the VIN number cracked the case. What if somebody had taken a peek at Moussaui's laptop beforehand? What if somebody at the FBI had paid attention to the Phoenix memo?
The wall of seperation between the FBI and CIA definitely seemed to hurt as well.
Our ENTIRE government failed us on so many levels. And sometimes just one alert person can stop a plot - like the border guard in Washington state.
