It seems two versions of EFM were standardized in 802.3ah (2BASE-TL and 10BASE-TS) for delivering Ethernet over mid to long distances (>3000 ft). I am not familiar with these technologies and was wondering were they comercially successful? Are they widely depolyed ?
If not was there some flaw of dis-advantage to them that cauased them not to be adopted. Or were they superseded by some better technology ?
